Professor Dr. Joao Leal has an extensive academic background, including a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Beira Interior, Portugal, and expertise in hydraulics and water resources. Currently a professor at the University of Agder, Norway, he has over 25 years of teaching and research experience.
His academic interests focus on water resource modeling, metaheuristic optimization, and renewable energy systems. He has served in various academic leadership roles and has taught diverse subjects such as fluid mechanics, hydropower, and data-driven modeling. His work bridges theoretical innovation and practical engineering solutions.
